These sights are a great fit to my Marlin 1895 GBL. Marlin unfortunately has a bad reputation for having misaligned holes on the barrel for their sights. I bought my rifle without sights on it with a scope so I didn’t realize there was an issue until I decided to go with irons only. I ordered these XS sights as a replacement. They arrived from a warehouse deal in their original packaging and were in very nice shape. The build quality is SOLID. The only issue was my gun itself. Because of the barrel being turned slightly to the left, I had to call XS Sights and have a replacement front sight sent. The replacement front sight has slotted screw holes rather than circles so that you can compensate for Marlin’s terrible barrel alignment. This is a known issue with the Marlin lever actions and XS has taken the heat and provided a solution.Mine came with two apertures. I preferred the smaller aperture ring. To adjust windage and elevation you may want to bring a tiny flathead screwdriver with you for quick adjustments. It is really easy to set and adjust as well. These sights are great for those who prefer irons. If you want to know more about how to set up or make sure you have the perfect adjustments, give Bo or Jared a call at their headquarters. The sight works well and was easy to install. There’s a video out there to walk you through the process. I took it out and shot about 20 rounds and couldn’t get a tight grouping but was able to hit what I aimed for. 20 rounds of 45-70 is all my shoulder could take as it is a small artillery. There are two rear sights and so I switch to the smaller aperture rear sight because the larger just had too much room for the front sight to play around in. I will go back out to sight it in again, but overall I’m happy with it. NOTE: There is a plug screw that comes with this sight to block off the remaining unused screw hole. It does not have a slot on the top end that seems unusual, and is because it is intended to have a smooth exposed surface after plugging the empty remaining screw hole. The slot is actually on the underside and not exposed. You have to first determine which holes line up to screw in and then drop the plug into place and tighten it in. After that, THEN install the sight. The front sight doesn’t adjust, but the rear sight does windage by turning set screws on either side to move it L/R and elevation by turning the rear sight upward or downward.

XS has always made quality products in our opinion. We have never purchased one that did not exceed our expectations. This sight set is no different. My Husband carries a Marlin Guide Gun while out on our property. We routinely encounter Bear and Cougar out in the woods. Thankfully we have never even had to shoot at one but in extremely rural, extreme Northern Washington State only a fool would trek out into the forest unarmed. These sights are an upgrade my Husband is very happy he made. Much faster target acquisition and much better sight picture. Low light vision is also greatly improved. If you own one of these rifles do yourself the favor of upgrading your sights.

The sight was fine in it’s construction and design, my only complaint was when it arrived from Amazon it was fairly beat up. I bought it as new but in damaged packaging, was led to believe it was in like new condition. That turned out to be inaccurate, it had obvious signs of having been installed and returned, some of the finish was actually ground off of it. I kept it and it is presently installed on my rifle, it will function I am certain, just a little disappointed in being led to believe it’s condition would be better than I received. I chalked it up to I took a chance to get a reduced price, but didn’t get such a nice deal after all.

My eyes were not handling the factory sights well. So I oredered these as the aperture sight is what I was trained on. I have experience with the company from years ago building a 416 for Alaska hunting. So I took the chance. Package arrived 10 minutes later the factory sights were removed. XS sights were on. These are much easier for older eyes to use. Two apertures are included. Short range hunting and a smaller one for longer ranges. I am leaving the larger one on for now. nice steel construction and loctite included for the screws. I will edit later after I sight this in.1895 GBL 45.70 laminated stock.

Factory sights were terrible (not surprising from a Remlin)…no matter what I tried the rounds wouldn’t get on the paper. I bought these XS sights and was able to shoot the group in the picture with zero adjustments after install from 50yds. Obviously, most people will need to zero them in, but I got lucky I guess. These ghost sights are very easy to install and well worth the money. You may want to get the rail to hide the notch in the barrel from the old sights.

Very easy to install. However, do you research on the type of rifle you’ll be installing it too. It won’t work with any rail system. It mounts directly to the scope mount points on the top of the rifle.

This sight is one of the best but there are flaws with ordering. 1) there are different rear sights for the full rail and scout rail they offer the “kit” purchase and they sent me the wrong one. You will see that this has happened for many people so be aware of that when it doesn’t appear to fit your rifle. Rather than go through the wait of trying to get it right I sent the whole thing back and will either order it from firearm professionals or go a different route entirely.
