This is a “double” review. 1. The hoist works exactly as advertised!!! I tested it last nite on my generator & it was phenominal!!! No more busted backs trying to roll it up ramps against an incline!!! 2. This is more of a statement directed at amazon (& yes, I will be making a complaint). When the box came I should have sent it back. It had been taped up like a 5 year old did it! An obvious return that I was charged full price for. But I need it so, what the heck. When I opened it everything seemed alright, when I took out the “swingarm” I read the warning label that said, “read all instructions before assembly & operation.” nice idea. When I looked for the instructions for assembly….there were none!!! They hadn’t been packed. Again, should have thrown it all in & sent it back but…. After about an hour of putting together a jigsaw puzzle of parts (really should only have taken about 1/2 hour. I had it together & I “think” I had all the parts. However, like I said, it works great just an issue with amazon.

First the positive: It definitely made lifting my generator easier. I look forward to trying it out when I go hunting. I also will be using it to help get my 5th wheel hitch in and out of the truck.Now the negative: It was delivered with rust right out of the box. I had to wipe it down with WD 40 to stop the rust that had started. There are many little gouges in the paint that were there when I took the plastic covering off, so that makes me believe that they were not very thoughtful in packing the parts. The upper holder for the pulley was squeezed together to the point I had to pound a gradually expanding screwdriver between the two tabs so widen them so the pulley could be put in between the tabs and spin freely. The other problem I encountered was trying to get the inner nut on the inner bolt on the manual winch connecting it to the upper arm. The last (and probably least onerous) The winch cable was wound backwards and I had to un-spool the entire cable and rewind it so it would go to the pulleys correctly. So, I should not have had to wipe rust off, should not have had to expand the tabs to allow the upper pulley wheel to be attached and work, should not have had to rewind the winch cable. Now, as a consideration you might want to increase the length on the two stabilizer legs, with a 4×4 truck, both legs were about 4 inches to short to go all the way to the ground. I had to cut two blocks to place under them to support the rest of the lift.Again, the lift works extremely well once you tweak things putting it together.

Well for one thing the handle didnt come for the wire rope thingy,I had one by chance!!!, also because this is made for a pickup truck and not a Ford E250 Van, it sits a little bit far away and low as you can see in the pictures, but i am careful to put these heavy items on my van…..also the legs had to be redrilled due to the low height of my vans hitch, I think I will use a better grade bolt that holds the wire rope wratchet to the post, it doesnt look that strong……Other than that, this is a backsaver, no more shakey uphill ramps, a one man show to lower or put heavy equipment on my van…… I will send an email that I did not receive the handle with the rest of the item, also you have to keep the wire rope under tension so it doesn’t unwound in the spool, just sayin…… So for what I need I give it 4 out of 5 stars because I didn’t get the handle, I had to do the other adaptations for my Van…..

I’ve used this to hoist a number of heavy items into my truck and it works great. I gave it four stars because you need to be careful about the height of your truck and how the legs work. I have a Ford F250 and the legs didn’t extend far enough to the ground without requiring some extra drilling to accommodate the holding pins. That would be my only negative, though. Other than that, it’s works very well for me.

Pro: Everything fit together nicely. Assembly was easy. Looks like it will load and unload my generator from my truck. (Haven’t tried it yet).Con: Delivered in a demolished cardboard box. Almost sent it back figuring some parts had to be missing (everything was there). Box was something you would ship underwear in, very lightweight. Instructions are a joke. Throw them away and do it yourself. Don’t know what size bolts are, make sure you have crescent wrenches. As others have mentioned, the cable is wound backwards and you will need to rewind it.I would buy it again.UPDATE: I’ve used it all summer to load and unload my 10 KW generator and it works like a charm! Highly recommend.

Easy to assemble. Multiple sections make it easy to move around. The cons: the cable has a sharp loose wire that can cut like a razor. I will put shrink tubing on the loose end. Also winding up the cable was difficult when no load on the end of it. Instructions were not all clear regarding where washers are to be installed.

Looks like a great piece of equipment, but the pulley wheels will not fit into the brackets made for them. Either they need larger brackets or smaller pulley wheels. I have E mailed the company, and waiting for an answer and solution. Right now it is useless..update: called Viking Solutions that it appears that some damage was done via shipping, Problem was solved. Very quick response, would by from this company again in a heartbeat.

It’s heavy but it’s great. It loads deer in the bed of a side by side ate with no problems. Place the cable behind the front shoulders and it allows complete clearance of the animal for swinging into the bed of the atv or truck Great product.
