I read all of the reviews and felt confident that these grips would work well. The price was a sweet bonus. I was wrong! Firstly, the fit is no where near correct. Gaps in the finger grooves and at the top by the backstrap. There was no way to tighten the screw enough to correct these issues. So backing the screw out to remove them was a train wreck! The screw (when properly put in) sits down so low that it was impossible to get them off. Literally, the screw sits below the actual edge of the grips. So the head of the screw gets “trapped” under the grips and is unable to be taken out through the hole provided for it. After having to cut them off the gun, NOT joking, I see that in addition to all of this….the threaded receiving end of the screw is completely rusted! Simply ridiculous. For the record, I know how to put grips on, and didn’t over or under tighten the screw. And my model of revolver is/was listed as being a match for these grips. I can’t return them now because as I said, I had to cut them off my gun. What I received was not a nice fit and frankly, not a nice product. Hope this review helps someone.

Old Pachmayr was nice, the new Pachmayr, not so nice. of course it depends on the model as well. I am changing out the Hogue on my K frame and the Pachmayr has a gap around the front, you cant tighten it up because they don’t use anything under the screw head to hold the screw. there is a small lip of rubber there but even half of it is missing and I have tried two of them, both poorly made. To me, the hard rubber and shape of the Pachmayr is more comfortable than the Hogue soft rubber or its shape. Just need one that will attach to the revolver well. The wrap around on my 1911 is perfect.

First off I would like to say I have purchased several Pacmayr grips in the past and they have been extremely nice, not so with this one. The difference between this grip and another identical grip that I purchased just a couple months ago is unbelievable. On this particular grip there were so many imperfections and flashings left on from the molding process it would not fit my pistol. After debating whether to return it or modify it and use it, I decided to modify and use it which was a mistake. I ended up being able to make the grip fit, however putting a couple of rips in it as I modified it with a razor knife. Working in industry for years, I know sometimes a bad quality product gets out every now and then. I certainly hope this is not what what Pachmayr quality is now or I have probably purchased my last grip from them.

I have owned many dozen sets of these grips over several decades, and have always found them to be great fitting, comfortable and easy to install. I was reluctant to buy another pair for this very nice old S&W Model 64 that I just got. Tight as new, smooth as glass.They arrived today and I put them on within minutes, taking a whole two minutes to do so. The fit is great, tight, and the issue with the screw, non-existent. This gun is 50 years old and they fit like they’re made for it.Also, made in USA!! Just what I’ve come to expect from Pachmayr since the first pair.Mike ThompsonHiawassee, Georgia

Could not seem to find nice information on if this would fit my 1986 Smith & Wesson 686 Square butt revolver. Was going to sell gun as the wood grip was so uncomfortable it hurt my knuckle just to hold it sat in closet for years. Let me tell you this grip fit and feels wonderful, I don’t know about what others say about the screw not fitting and all that ,but for this model this fits ,feels, looks wonderful. I put the whole package it came in on the dashboard of my car for about 20 minutes got nice and soft and went on like a glove. Screwed in just like it was suppose to. Wish I would of brought this years ago. Seller was superb and FAST

Recently purchased this for a S&W 686, and am VERY happy with the grip. Totally changed the way the pistol looked. If I had to make an analogy, my 686 with wood grips made me feel like I was in an episode of Hawaii 5-0, the Pachmayr grip makes me feel like I am in Terminator.The comfort level has gone WAY up obviously, the finger grooves and the rubber texture provide a very nice purchase on the firearm.

Maybe just me but I feel the QC has diminished since my early purchases for duty guns back in the ’80s. Still though, my go to for any revolver, mostly S&W and even have panels for an original S&W Mod 59. These particular grips went on a Mod 19. The fit was very nice but not great. No thought on returning them in any way. Just a note, I had ordered the exact same grip for another 19 and they fit like a glove. Switched grip-guns and same result. Hmm, go figure. Still my go-to!!

Fits like a glove on S&W L Frame. Quality appears to be just fine. The seam closed exactly as it is supposed to. I’ve installed and used a lot of Pachmayr grips since the early 80’s and this one is every bit as nice as the ones made 35 years ago.

Terrible fit and finish . Does not completely mate up on forward facing inside of the grip and as others have stated the screw goes right through the other side of the handle and the screw head side pulls through instead of tightening the handle together if you try to tighten it enough to keep the grip from wiggling around . Very sloppy manufacturing .
