OK, so I figured, “It’s a cheap, plastic bench rest. How nice could it be?”Well, I was pleasantly surprised. It was fairly easy to assemble. My only complaint (and this is nickel/dime stuff…): The instructions are printed on very glossy paper, and I kept having to move the sheet around to get rid of the glare. Stupid, right? But when you’ve got one hand on the item and the other on a screwdriver, it gets tedious. Fortunately, it goes together quickly. In actual use, the item performed very well. Granted, the biggest gun I used on it was a 9mm carbine, but it did what it was supposed to do. I wouldn’t recommend it for sighting in a 50 cal. Barrett. But then, if you can afford one of those, you can afford to spend more than $25 on a bench rest. For the rest of us plebes, this is a great value for the money, and it’s made in the USA!

This item was a little bit of a disappointment for me. I have a Benjamin Marauder air rifle and that is why I purchased it. Bottom line, it doesn’t hold the rifle very steady. The gun will fall over while sitting in the saddle. I notched out one end of a cardboard box and it holds the gun much better than this device. So for myself and my particular gun it doesn’t work very well. It just does not hold the gun in place. Depending on the gun you have, it may work better.

The main problem is that it’s plastic… The main rest where the fore end rests is wobbly because a. it’s plastic and b. the plastic tightener that secures the fore end rest was not drilled through all the way, causing the fore end rest to not be able to be tightened. It goes up and down, but down needs to be pushed down because the light weight of the plastic screw and wheel easily overcome gravity and need to be forced downward. The whole thing does move when you shot anything over .223. Very light weight so it’s easy to carry out of the trunk. You could probably fill sections of the bottom with concrete. This would probable keep it more stable. But over all, it’s light, cheap, easy to carry, nice enough to sight in for hunting. But I would definitely not use this for long distance shooting or competitions of any kind.

Ordered Amazon warehouse, “nice condition”, cosmetic-only blemishes, damaged cardboard box. Saved $10.00 over list price. Product arrived with one corner of cardboard box loose but contents in pristine, like-new condition. Assembled product easily and discovered one installation nut was wrong size. Replaced with one I had and completed assembly. Product is sturdy, well made and performs perfectly. Would recommend, if plastic gun rest is desired, spend the extra money and step up to the MTM Predator PSR-30. This is no cheapo, fall-apart gun rest and you’ll never regret buying this MTM product. Thanks to Amazon for your warehouse specials, too.

The Predator rest is way too light so it’s of limited use. The rest moves with each shot. I found it impossible to sight in a rifle or a crossbow with this rest. It might be ok for sighting in a .22 but forget it with any higher caliber. MTM might have solved the problem by providing a way to attach the rest to a board or table top. Nope.I went back to using my rest bags. A nice idea but what a waste of money.

You can’t get much more sturdy with plastic for the price. I don’t think it’s going to work for sighting in my AR unless I get a smaller magazine. But it worked well for my son’s 702 Plinkster. Kept it solidly in place while adjusting windage and elevation. Now he’s picking off lizards at 100 yards.

Ordered this hoping to not have to carry around a heavier rest and for that purpose it is nice, but it just isn’t going to be a keeper in the long run. It was easy to put together and looks pretty nice, but as soon as the front rest is pulled out of the box, you just know it isn’t going to be stable. The plastic construction allows for some flex when you put any pressure on the rifle and it seems to not want to return to level after a shot either. I had a hopeful outlook for this, but it just was not to be.

Not the most expensive or sophisticated shooting rest available but for the price very hard to beat. It’s light and easily portable, easy to set up and holds the gun very steady. I have only used it with pistols but it works as well as much more expensive units. A very nice shooting rest which meets the needs of most but the most sophisticated shooters.
