Yeah, you can make it yourself, but why bother? This stuff is inexpensive, has a great alcohol:lanolin ratio so it spreads & covers well but dries fast, one spray bottle lasts for 15k + pieces of brass, and the pump sprays a nice mist. I was using other types before and nothing is faster or performs better overall. And I rarely get a lube dent on .223 shoulders which wasn’t hard to do with other lubes.I can’t think of any disadvantages to this vs other types of lube, only ways it is better. For forming brass (cutting down .223 and turning it into 300BLK for example) I’ll use something else, but for general FL resizing, this is hard to beat!Don’t pay more for a slightly lighter shade of blue on the label – this is the same stuff.

Normally I’ve always used Hornady One Shot. But because of the smell and cost I’ve decided to opt for a cheaper option. Cleaned out the resizing die prior to use and sprayed once inside the die followed but the same for the brass. I laid all the brasses on its side in a plastic container. Sprayed enough to lightly coat, shaked it around and sprayed a light coat once more on the sides only. Once dried I continued to process them and I couldn’t believe at how easy it ran through the die. There’s more than enough solution in a bottle to process thousands of brass. More than worth the money. Afterwards I do notice a tacky coat on the brass. But I normally wipe off with a paper towel and re tumble in corn media for another 20mins to remove all the lube and add a coat of polish to keep it looking shiny.

Easy to apply, but if you’re full length sizing .223, make SURE you get some down inside the case neck. I’m getting tired of having to cut .223 brass off my depriming pin…

This is by far my favorite lube! Ever! Spray it in a zip-lock bag with your brass and mix up. Open bag and let sit for a minute and your butter.I run this on my 223, 308 as well as my more exotic stuff that is hard to size like 458 Socom and 500 S&W magnum. As long as you set it sit for 1-2 minutes and your die is clean, this lube is great!Ive ran a variety of home brew lubes, hornady one shot, brass butter, imperial wax and a few others…no competition.

Pros-worth the $ and can lube more than 1k casesjust apply a generous amount and nice to gonice lubricant to size casesCons-leaving residue to sized cases (sticky residue) and have to throw the sized cases back into tumbler for 30 mins to remove. sticky cases bad for barrel chamber and can build up gunk which leads to FTE or stucked cases. Best way to remove residue is to put final prep case (sized & trimmed) to a bucket with warm water and detergent, rinse thoroughly, let the cases dry and tumble for 30 mins. Result – shiny brasses!

After having two .223 cases stuck in my small base sizing dies after using Hornady One Shot case lube, I gave this one a try. Although it goes on thinner, the alcohol solvent evaporates very quickly and dramatically cuts friction. Cases slide in and out of the die.

Definitely a super handy product. It smells almost like Dial handsoap cut with rubbing alcohol. My trick for getting the most out of this lube, is that I add all my cases into a large ziplock baggy, spray a few pumps of lube into it and shake it around.

Better than the aerosol spray and it doesn’t stink up the shop . No oil dents , no stuck cases .I run the brass thru corn cob one more time before I prime .
